Phuket? Nope

First of all Mr is leaving for redang for his yearly department trip this thursday night and coming back on sunday evening *sigh. It cost him rm1k.

Last night he received an email and asked me "Nak ikut?"

Ohhh I am excited, finally can 'ikut' him since this year no more sharing room for him.

We are pleased to inform you that the Management Conference (MGC) will be held in Phuket, Thailand this year from 31 October – 2 November 2008. The hotel we are considering is The Movenpick Resort & Spa located at Karon Beach.

The finer details of the conference and the optional activities are in the process of being finalized. These will be announced once they are final. In summary, the programme outline (based on accommodation for 3 nights provided for) is as follows:-

Wed or Thurs , 29 or 30 October : Delegates check in

Friday, 31 October 2008 : Full day conference

Saturday, 1 November 2008 : Half day conference (accompanying spouses are only allowed to arrive after the conference ends at noon on Saturday, 1 November 2008. Please adhere strictly to this)

To facilitate the bookings of flights, kindly note that registration for flight options will be opened this Wednesday, 30 July 2008 morning at 10.30 am. To facilitate the immediate bookings of flight, the registration process will be on a 'first come, first serve' basis. We are enclosing the registration form that needs to be completed and physically submitted to the MGC organizing committee.You can do this personally or send your department secretary for which the time of form being lodged will be registered and you will be informed immediately if your option is no longer available.

There are only a total of 6 flights options for your selection and bookings will be made as per those options available in the registration form only as there is no mix and match available. For your information, the option of AK872 departing on 12.45 on 30 Oct, Thurs and returning on AK873 2.30 pm on Sun, 2 Nov has very limited number of seats compared to the rest. For the rest, MH for each day will have at least 45 seats and AA at least 60 seats. If you are extending your stay, please quickly inform us of the new return date and return flight. The return flight details are same as the one shown for departures on 2 November 2008. However, you will need to pay for the differential, if any, compared to the options provided. The room rates for extended night for either single or double occupancy is RM500 nett and is inclusive of breakfast.

For Risk Management purpose, kindly note that all management staff or Partner/Exec Director within a particular department should NOT be on the same flight. For example, say there are 9 management group members and 4 partners in Audit M – not more than 4 mgt team OR 2 partners should be on same flight.

For the 2008 MGC, kindly note that everyone will be required to be on twin-sharing basis for the hotel accommodation except for Partners/Executive Directors. However, you may choose your own roommate. Please note that you and your roommate should register for the same flight option for ease of logistics. Should you be unable to find a suitable roommate, the organizing committee would be more than happy to make the necessary arrangement for you.
