Ma, do you have any regrets?

One day on the way home from school Afiq asked me this question.

"Ma, do you have any regrets?"

Come to think about it erm....I did wish I had a better SPM results and went studied abroad but again I might not meet Mr M eh...so I guess no regrets...

The next day he broke down in the car. Yes he cried.

He was stressed out with the amount of work for PBS Band 6. A lot of assignments, presentations etc and he had to prepare for his 1st written exam (PMR style) the week after.

We hugged and we cried together in the car while waiting at the traffic light. But for a while only la. When he had settled down I advice him to write down his to do list and from there he should then made a plan based on priority according to dateline and the amount of work needed to be done.

His actual To Do List. Tak termasuk revision esp Sejarah yg banyak kena hafal :-P
See #6 they always have quizzes for English. Siapa jawab betul dapat present. This time dapat a cute pink snow globe. Its officially my 1st Snow Globe. It will always reminds me of this particular incident.

Jawab soalan on Sherlock Holmes Mystery. The book they learn for English.

Okay lets continue with the regrets part which is very very surprising and interesting indeed. He told me that he regretted that he had spent too much time playing games on his new computer. After much pujuk memujuk and justification the computer was bought as a gift for his UPSR results. He realised because of the computer games he had at times neglected the family, not respecting us the parents etc. He regretted that very very much and he feels really sorry about it.

Wah....coming straight from him without me nagging etc was a huge SYUKUR.

Its like a wake up call. Alhamdulillah

I told him to try his best in everything he do then leave the rest to ALLAH with doa so.....jangan tinggal solat 5 waktu. Doa minta pada Allah, nobody can help except Allah. Its the right time to re enforced lots of good things. Solat proper skit, lama skit, waktu2 afdhal untuk doa etc. Alhamdulillah thereon tak payah nak kena ingatkan solat esp Isya'. Alhamdulillah dia yang ajak ayah pegi surau for maghrib. Syukur tak terhingga...tak terkata....Last Ramadhan that was my main doa. Bab jaga solat. Alhamdulillah

He played no computer games until habis exam. Still on tweeter and fb sbb msg dgn classmates on school work. Thats all. Both of us including adik-adik yang dah habis exam pun support abang. Teman abang buat revision. In fact there was this 1 night all of us sat at the main dining table. No tv after dinner. Semua duduk situ teman abang sambil munching on caramel crunchies. Ayah baca paper. Pagi2 we sat at the terrace and he did his work. Either doing work on his computer or do his revision.

Every morning he started ikut hantar adik-adik to school. He become very 'clingy'. He needed us to comfort him. He said it himself. Ermm....bling..bling...bling....something need to be said on this. So I told him since he wanted to study abroad he needed to start from now. He must be able to pull through a situation like this by himself. Can't expect mama to be by his side all the time. There's a lot of things which contributed to his breaking down. He said that he had always confident before going for an exam. Even for UPSR. But this time it was a diff case. He had 2 new subjects ie Sejarah and Geografi. He had problem with Sejarah. Not a fan of subject that relies on memorizing facts I guess.

As of today Alhamdulillah he had passed his Band 6 for BM, Maths & KH. A's for Pemahaman, Maths, Science & Sejarah. Others belum dapat result lagi.

And the best of all.....

He is now a much better servant to Allah & son to both of us.
